During the brief,m I feel that I followed a good structured design process well I began by doing some research via the internet and also via books from the library, existing posters in sandwich shops, etc. I then did some mock ups on photoshop and illustrator to get an idea of what I wanted to do, I feel that this research and mock ups were done reasonably well and helped me to go onto a final idea.
In the first client meeting out of what I did we presented my website as well as a couple of posters of my own design, the clients said that the website was alright but not really what they were looking for and that the posters were good and a bit more along the lines of what they wanted. From this I think that the work I did up until then was worth while, definitely down the correct path and was of a good standard. In the second meeting most of the work was a combined effort, but from what I did I feel was of a good standard and the clients really liked it.

evaluation
I fel that I have a pretty darn good interpretation of the brief, I thought that I was able to get into the same mindset as the clients were and understand what it was that they needed. I feel that I worked well in a team and shared the workload well, I thought that I did some good work and contributed a lot of worthwhile ideas and suggestions. In the final presentation I think that I spoke well about the work and explained it in a clear and easy way that the clients were able to understand, I answered questions given by them to the best of my ability and overall I feel that the presentation went well from my side of it. I felt that we came up with what we needed to do for them, and did it well, the clients seemed to like the work as well. Throughout the brief I was in class every day we were scheduled and I was on time. I also came in one some of the days we were off to get work finished.
Blog Post-a-Go-Go
Two local Techno DJs, Dave Dow and DJ Fyvie have asked us to design a logo, website, flyers, and an e flyer. They were looking for something that represented them and encorporated a dark gritty looking citcy scene combined with a nocturnal animal somewhere in it. From what I got from them I felt that the animal represented them. An exotic animal in an environment that they look out of place in but they somehow fit in. A techno band that plays nice soothing tech-house looking out of place in a sea of generic and predictable techno music.
We decided to split the workload between the 5 of us. I did the photoshop and fireworks work, steven was doing sketching and some poster design, ashleigh was doing dreamweaver and some photoshopping, and kirstin and james were goiong to focus on illusrator and photography.

Client meeting numero tres
So we've just exited our third and final client meeting and in my humble opinion I reckon that it went relatively well. The clients seemed genuinely interested in our work, and from what I could gather they liked what they saw. They really liked the images we used on the site and said that it captured that gritty dark feel that they wanted while still remaining stylish and fit for purpose.
The only sort of bad things they had to say were that the posters and e-fliers don't really match up with the site too well, that however can be rectified by swapping out for one of the images that we took ourselves.
As for myself, I feel that I spoke well and interacted clearly with the clients, I feel that I got the point across very well, but I was possibly moving around a little much. That will be found out when we watch it back.
Kirsten and James didn't turn up... again, but to be honest I fell that that helped us to an extent. You see none of our final work was designed or worked on by either of the two and they really didn't know how we came up with the site and whatnot.
Overall I think we did well.

Client meeting
So yesterday we had our mid brief meeting with the client which I feel went relatively well. The clients seemed interested in what we were talking about, but we may have came in with too many ideas which seems to confuse them and stifle their suggestion giving as well as their questioning.
During the meeting I feel that I talked well and interacted well with the clients. I think that our group did well at splitting up the time evenly and letting everyone else get a word in.
From what I gathered they seemed to like one of the posters in particular and they thought that we should focus on that style and build a web page from that. So today I shall be working with everyone else to figure out a layout and a style that can follow through not only websites, but posters and flyers alike.

Nocturne update #1 (sorry bout forgetting last week >_>)
These past weeks I've been working on the Nocturne Client Brief.
Last week our group was in a little bit of a dissaray, With people not being here at the start of the week, and by the begining of the second week it was just meself and Ashleigh in class, so we worked together to geth the best out of it. We might aswell.
For the first part of this week I was working with ashliegh to try and get a concept for the website layout. I also spent a couple of days working out a logo, I had a look at logos from other Techno artists and I designed my own text in illustrator and then added in some effects to give it it's final look.
Mid week I began working in photoshop to get a website layout done, I have got each page mocked up in photoshop and I am quite happy with the look, I believe others in the group have made their own aswell which will be nice to see their spin on it.
Today I finished off the website images and then got a start on the poster and fliers.
Hopefully by monday I should have most of my work done and I can have a chat to the rest of my group and we can work out what we like and do not like and if we can combine things to make a better outcome.

I created the site itself in photoshop, drawing out the designs directly onto screen using a stylus. I got through the fireworks part of the site build fairly problem free but after importing to dreamweaver I began to have some problems. Mostly due to my own lack of knowledge on the program. But with a little help from my lecturers I managed to get all problems solved and the site working well.

So I've had a look at various carnival, circus, and sideshow related sites. Alot of them take imagery from the classic sideshows with banners, various fonts, colourful, etc.
I also had a look as some modern clothing websites, alot of them are sleek, dark coloured, very modern. I also looked at some alternative clothing sites, such as gothic ones, punk sites etc. The majority of these sites are very cluttered, alot of images, and just really messy and hard to navigate.

The brief i have been giving is the web design brief.
I'm to build a fashion based website with a minimum of 8 fully functional pages with NO dead links.
There are 5 company names that i that i could have chosen to expand upon.
Loop
Steel
Damage
Hoxton
Koln
My idea for a fashion site is an easily accessible clothing site for those interested in classic carnival and sideshow acts. The company also helps promote modern sideshows as well as charities.
I have chosen he company title as Damage.
